Recycle and Repurpose

After a beautiful wedding and a great surprise birthday party, there were quite a few floral arrangements left over and it was a shame to just throw them away.  The hostess of the party remarked if I could use them or take them home. Instead, I asked if it was permissable to recycle the flowers and make a senior living center in my neighborhood really happy. She replied "wonderful".

Did you know that the color "yellow" is an emotional color and helps people to remember and also put a big smile on their faces.

So without hesitation I immediately got to work and rearranged the arrangements for each patient to have near their beside. Immediately, as the caretaker opened the door she had a huge smile on her face and all of their patients.

I also dropped an arrangement to the front door step of another senior lady in the area and she was sooo stump and so surprised! She actually said are these for me and I said yes. She so sweetly replied, "What did I so to deserve these flowers?"

I just absolutely love doing my job and most of all spreading a smile!

Two Events in One-A Birthday & A Wedding

Two Events in One Day
August 10, 2013

Chris's 60th Surprise Birthday
&
Karen and Sam Palmisano

Blending two events into one was definitely a most rewarding experience as a floral designer. Both parties were so appreciative from beginning to end that they actually made my work just as rewarding to be a part of their special day. Wishing Chris many, many years ahead and for Karen and Sam a lifetime of happiness filled with lots of love and memories from this day forward as husband and wife.

                                                 Junior Bridesmaid Bouquet

This bouquet was quite unique because it held the couples ring in a bird's nest.

This is another junior bridesmaid bouquet for her cousin who was flying in from Hawaii.

                                                               Kitchen Arrangement

As guests entered from the foyer into the kitchen they were greeted by this sunflower topiary arrangement that complimented the beautiful long granite kitchen island.  Guests just absolutely loved the fact that I had fresh fruit and vegetables in the arrangement as well as flowers.

Kitchen Table Arrangement
I truly believe in reuse and recycle. The owner of the house had these two beautiful jugs and I simply placed a few flowers in water tubes to connect them with the rest of the rooms! They were real pretty. As a matter of fact, I thought that she had brought them back from France and she giggled and simply said "no" they are from Pier 1.

There were two candle stands that flanked each side on the outside of the bar entrance. Here is Ray, who these two parties would not have been possible, posing with his granddaughter.

What a gorgeous wedding cake highlighting the color theme of the events and also these beautifully sculptured sugar flowers! What a talent.

 Birthday Cake

Chris loved his cake and he commented "Look the design resembles the storage business door".
