BOUQUET TO ARTS
During my education in floral designing at San Mateo Community College, a few of my classmates and I had the opportunity to exhibit at the musuem under the supervision of our instructor. Our instructor made a bid and we were given a piece from the Aztec department located on the lower level of the De Young Museum. Much preparation work was put into studying the background piece, what color choices, which flowers to use, and most of all what structure to best compliment this floral design. Here are the results of this awesome experience.
The encased mask was the interpretive piece. Floral material used were cymbidium orchids, leucodendron, proteas, anthiriums, flax, monkey tail and curly willow.
